Firing Fused Glass in MWK

It's difficult to give timings, as I just tend to peek into the MWK to see how the glass is doing.  I find it's really trial and error - (and quite a few broken pieces!) before you start getting it right!

GlassLine

This didn't come out how I expected it at all, but I really like it.

1. a few new pieces ...... with closeup views ......
2.
3.
4.  I cut this one down and re-fired it - probably overfired it, but like it anyway.

Glass on the Edge!

Small pieces have been cut in strips and 'tac'd' together, then fired.
The pieces slump down and you get beautiful stripes.

Fusing Mosaic Tiles and Glass Pebbles

Here I experimented with small mosaic tiles, millifiori and the glass pebbles - usually that are used for flower/plant decoration.  I had to put little slithers of coloured glass in between the pebbles so they fused together better.

Microwave Kiln pieces

this is made by placing small pieces of 'graduated' sized glass on their edges  *
using a teeny terracotta saucer - I made this experimental 'donut' using lots of waste glass shards, and rolled kilnpaper for the hole

*glass tac is very useful - (sometimes a bit of spit will work!)

Dichroic Glass

There is a beautiful selection of dichroic glass which make wonderful pendants. I usually use Warm Glass ....... https://warm-glass.co.uk/...
